Public information work has become a central task of the counseling center because the theme of the Holocaust and its psycho-social effects for the survivors and their children is not well-known or recognized in Switzerland. In addition to lectures and seminars, publishing articles and books is a good means of reaching the public. Some publications, for example, newspapers and magazines, are intended to reach a general public. Other publications concentrate more on communicating specialized knowledge to psychotherapists and psychologists.
In February 2002, the members of Tamach produced an anthology, Das Trauma des Holocaust zwischen Psychologie und Geschichte (The Trauma of the Holocaust between Psychology and History), published by Chronos Verlag. The book is a summary of Tamach’s work with people of the First and Second Generations that also serves as an interesting contribution from psychologists, historians and survivors who give various perspectives on the topic of the Shoah.
